GUIDELINES FOR
GRANTS
Funds are available in
the form of grants to all educators in
the Pembroke Public Schools. Grant size
ranges from $100 (low) to $3,000 (high)
with an average grant size of
approximately $750.
PEF encourages grantees
to be creative, forward thinking, and
current in their program designs.
Prioritization is given to programs that
are sustainable on their own over time,
can be utilized in the future by
additional students, that benefit the
most students, and that are easily
replicable. The
PEF application must be completed in
full. All recipients of a grant are
required to provide an Outcome Report
and an accounting of how the funds are
spent by the end of the school year.
Grantees who do not complete these forms
may not be considered for future
funding.
ELIGIBILITY
Any teacher, group of
teachers or administrator in the
Pembroke Public Schools may submit an
application for funding. Other
professional school personnel such as
guidance counselors and school
librarians are also eligible to apply
for a grant. Grants will be awarded on a
competitive basis. Projects
must
be carried out within the Pembroke
school system (pre-K – 12). Projects
must be approved by the school
administrator of the building in which
the project is to take place.
ELIGIBLE COSTS
Grants will be awarded
to cover costs which are not otherwise
available through the regular school
budget or from other sources. Funding
is
not available for staffing or
compensation for an individual’s time.
PROPOSAL REVIEW
PROCESS
Each application will
be reviewed by the Foundation’s Grant
Committee.
The committee may seek additional
information from the applicant. At its
discretion, the committee may approve a
proposal for funding or partial funding
of a grant contingent upon specific
limitations. The
applicant must accept such limitations. The
amount awarded for each grant will
depend on funds available, the funds
necessary for the proposed project and
the number of applications received.
